st Paul’s Terrace
A quietly elegant and welcoming home that provides a tranquil respite from city life.
an urban sanctuary
St Paul’s Terrace is a compact, three-storey terrace situated in the Islington Conservation Area. The challenge was to create a cohesive, calm interior for a young couple with a modest budget.
creating clarity
Working from the bottom up, we replaced the flooring throughout the lower ground level and introduced textured rugs and runners elsewhere. A neutral, earthy, warm paint scheme has been applied to the walls, ceiling and woodwork throughout to create a sense of clarity and spaciousness. On top of this, we have layered natural materials including textured timber, heavyweight linen, bronze, marble, walnut and maple.
The lighting has been updated throughout with the introduction of simple glass and ceramic pendants. We have also designed and commissioned bespoke storage and seating areas to maximise the use of space. The result is an elegant, functional retreat that is strong but muted; simple and timeless.
“Emma and her team did a truly amazing job. Having spent the time to get to know us, she understood what we wanted to achieve from the outset. The team guided us seamlessly through our project always providing thoughtful options along the way. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.”
